So recently it came to @Backalley and myself to create an in depth invention guide , as people have a lot of questions so here is a guide for those who are still stuck on this topic

What is Invention?

Invention is a skill which requires you to disassemble items and obtain components to create new and improved items. Invention is a late game skill which was used to also help the economy , it has removed a lot of cash and items out of the economy (which of course has helped out the server). 

How to start off

To start off with invention use the command ::invent , or ::invention , Once you teleport here you will want to trade "Joe Gatto" . Once you trade this person you are going to want to purchase the "oldak's device" . This is what is used to disassemble items . Once you have your device , you're going to want to buy some rune items / berserker helmets and gather 35k generic components (we'll talk about these later ) and a molten glass. Once achieved use your components on the molten glass which gives you an "experimental sphere" repeat this method until you achieve 30 invention.

How to obtain these schematics

There are 2 ways to obtain schematics , 1) You can purchase them from "oldak's shop" these schematics range from 25m up to 350m. The other way to get them is with the "experimental sphere" you previously made teleport you to experiments these drop : Coins , caskets , hard clues , rune items , berserker helms , mystic tops , dragon items , death runes , summer pies , experimental sphere and most importantly PAPER SCRAPS. Paper Scraps are used for obtaining the schematics , once you receive a total of 100 paper scraps you click on the scraps to get a random schematic. Best things to pick up are the following : Paper scraps , caskets , coins , clues , all items to disassemble , death runes , summer pies *optional* , experimental spheres

What are the best schematics to keep?

The best schematics to keep are the following : LUCKY AMULET , RING OF FORTUNE , AUGMENTOR / SIPHON , ENCHANTED LOG / BAR , LUCK OF THE PUGS , IMBUED EYE. The following are some optional keeps : GARDEN PIE , AMETHYST AMMO , OVERLOADS . There are also some others which are all transmute schematics : CREST TRANSMUTE , BARROWS TRANSMUTE , BLUDGEON TRANSMUTE, TOTEM TRANSMUTE. 

Schematic Component list

Before we start off , a component is what you get when you disassemble your items ( i'll have a link to the component list guide )

There are 8 types of components these are : Organic , Generic , spiritual , Dark , Corrupt , Lucky , Uber and finally rare.

*TIP : THE NUMBER IN THE BRACKET IS TO SHOW WHAT LEVEL YOU NEED FOR THAT SCHEMATIC*

To check how many and what components you need , right click and go on examine on the schematic .

List :

- Garden Pie, 10m (1) - Summer pie and 1,000 organic components

- Overload (10) 25M - Aggression Potion and 3,500 organic components (Aggression pot = Super prayer potion 4 + muddy rock)

- Slurp Juice (15) 30M - Empty Cup , 5,000 Organic Components and 1,000 Uber Components

- Magic Bean (20) 40M  - Small pouch , 1,000,000 generic components and 100,000 organic components

- Amethyst Ammo (30) 50M - 100 Rune Arrow / Bolts and 100,000 generic components and amethyst

- Enchanted Log (30) 60M - 100 Magic Logs , 350,000 spiritual components and 50,000 organic components

- Enchanted Bar (30) 60M - 100 Rune Bars , 350,000 Spiritual components and 50,000 organic components

- Enchanted Soul (35) 65M - King Black Dragon / Abyssal Head / Kalphite Queen head and 100,000 spiritual components

- Lucky Amulet (45) 150M - Rabbit's foot ( Get from hunter ) , 1,500,000 lucky components and Amulet of fury 

- Ring Of Fortune (50) 200M - Onyx ring and 2,500,000 lucky components 

- Luck Of The Pugs (50) 250M - Ring Of Fortune , 5,000,000 Lucky components , 500,000 rare components and 500,000 uber components

- Totem Transmute (60) 75M - Dark Totem Piece ( Top , Middle or Bottom ) and 25,000 dark components

- Bludgeon Transmute (60) 75M - Bludgeon Piece ( Axon , claw or Spine ) , 100,000 dark components

- Barrows Transmute (65) 75M - Barrows Gloves and 30,000 corrupt components

- Death Darts (70) 100M  - 250 dragon darts , 25,000 rare components and 250,000 corrupt components

- Crest Transmute (75) 150M - Crest Piece (1 , 2 or 3) , 50,000 rare components

- Augmentor (80) 200M - Cog (Joe Gatto) , 100,000 corrupt components and 75,000 uber components

- Siphon (80) 200M - Metal Sheet (Joe Gatto) , 75,000 dark components and 35,000 uber components

- Dissolver (80) 200M - Pipe (Joe Gatto) , 75,000 rare component and 175,000

- Imbued Eye (90) 350M - Elf's head (Buy from Joe Gatto ) , 1,000,000 Spiritual components and 250,000 uber components 

How to get 1-99 Invention Guide

1-30 - Start off by disassembling your rune items and berserker helmets to make 35,000 generic components and buy some molten glass . Your going to make "Experimental sphere's like we mention in "how to start off". You get 2,500 invention experience each one you make , therefor in total to get to 30 you're going to need to make a total of 6 teleports . 

30-80 - Once level 30 is achieved you're going to want to do is obtain a "enchanted log" schematic and start to make these enchanted logs / Bars . These both give a huge amount of experience ( 525k each use for log and bar ) . You get 150,000 experience for each one you make , therefor you will need the following supplies for 30-80 : 1400 Magic Logs , 4,900,000 spiritual components and 700,000 Organic components . Experiments and zulrah are good ways to obtain Magic Logs.

80-99 - Once you have reached level 80 you are almost there ! You are going to purchase the Augmentor Schematic and you are going to need to get 3 abyssal whips and augment them both. You'll need to get 3 cogs , 300,000 corrupt components and 225,000 uber components . Once your weapon is augmented all you need to do is go and boss / kill monsters to level up your whip , the max level is 6 and is 1,500,000 experience . Once you reach level 6 you will get a notification , and you use you "oldak's device" on the augmented whip and boom you get a HUGE! experience drop of 3,500,000. Once you have repeated this three times you have achieved your 99 invention !

Alching Schematics

When you combine 100 paper scraps you may get a schematic you don't want to keep , so what you can do is high alchemy spell on the schematic for some cash . Some schematics give Half the schematic price others give full money back - I'm not sure on which ones give full and half . This also will help you get your needed schematics , if you get one you don't need you can alch it and buy the one you do need . 

Why Should you do Invention?

Invention brings a lot of perks to the game for example - Overloads , Best food Source ( Garden pies ) , Drop rate increase items ( Lucky amulet , Lucky torture / Anguish , Ring of fortune , Luck of the pugs ) The lucky torture and Anguish do not need a schematic just need the amulet of torture / Anguish , 2,500,000 lucky components and 15,000 uber components . Overloads are extremely good because they are essentially an "everything potion" . By this I mean it boosts all you combat stats , it acts as an anti fire too ! Invention also helps you create the most powerful ammunition in game ! The amethyst ammo is used for the "Twisted Bow" and can hit extremely high . Finally, Invention is a requirement for max cape , if you don't have 99 Invention you cannot purchase the max cape ( One of the most useful capes in revival ) Also we have a Invention Skill Cape Perk which is while worn , the Components for making Garden Pies and Amethyst Ammo is reduced by 25% ! What's the most efficient , easiest way to get all of these components I need for the schematics?

The most easiest way to obtain these schematics is to follow ::TOPIC 400. @Jamian Made this site to show the most effective way to get components and what items give what components.

Just quickly the best for each component are as follow : 

- Organic - Torstol seeds / Cave NightShade

- Generic - Rune Items  / Berserker Helmets

- Spiritual - Mystic Tops

- Corrupt - Dragon Equipment

- Dark - Uncut Onyx

- Rare - Santa hats , Halloween Masks , Party hats

- Lucky - 3rd age items

- Uber - Raid items , Godwars items

Augmenting is the cheapest method.. logs are slightly quicker but cost more.

Really nice guide! Making garden pies also is a pretty cheap method to level up pretty quickly and you get to stockpile the best food in game! I did mostly pies/logs to 99 and I have a ton of pies banked so I'm not going to have to worry about food for a very long time.

Costs like 10m if that for 200k corrupt components. 75k Uber - you can buy cheap Raid items - d harpoon, dragon hunter cross bow, dihns and they give 50k Uber each, so you need to spend roughly 200-250 for enough Uber’s for 99, schematic is only 250m and you get half of it back when you’re finished. Cogs are like 10m? If not cheaper. I know logs are over 900m for 99. Unless you know of a cheaper method?
